State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a wanted male Sunday at a Clark Road residence in Knox Township. According to state police, 37-year-old Hugo Travis of Madera was wanted as a result of a domestic, which occurred earlier in the day. When troopers arrived at the residence, Travis allegedly fled out the back door. He was ordered to stop, but state police say he continued to flee into a wooded area. After a brief foot pursuit, Travis was taken into custody; charges are currently pending through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police arrested a female for suspicion of DUI along Nichols Street. She was stopped for a traffic violation and reportedly determined to be intoxicated.
- Police reported that a bike was retrieved after it was located at a property along East Cherry Street.
- Police responded to a reported alarm at a residence along Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon arrival, police found the owner had accidently activated it.
- Police responded to a trespassing complaint along South Second Street. Upon arrival, police located a tenant who was packing items up before being evicted.
- Police responded to a report about a loose dog on New Street. Police located the dog and its owner.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a retail theft Nov. 5 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Clearfield. During the incident, a Grampian couple allegedly took multiple items, concealing them on their person and fleeing the store when an employee attempted to apprehend them. Officers intercepted the couple in their vehicle before they were able to leave, and some of the stolen items were recovered at that time. Charges are currently pending.
- Police received a report about a theft that occurred Nov. 15 at the Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. According to police, $40 was found to be missing from a drawer in a resident’s room. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about a theft/scam Oct. 13 at the Sheetz store, located off state Route 879, Clearfield. According to police, an unknown male entered the store and attempted to purchase a small item with a large cash denomination. Police say there was confusion over the exchange of money, and the male left with $80 more than what he had when he entered the store. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a burglary Nov. 17 on the Caledonia Pike. During the incident, someone allegedly entered a camp and removed several items such as a tree stand, trail cam, fishing vest and mirror. Police believe the suspect operated a gold-colored, single-cab Chevrolet pick-up with a wooden bed. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police received a report about a burglary in progress Nov. 17 on the Bloomington – Glen Richey Highway. According to police, the caller said the residence was supposed to be unoccupied; however, they believed several people were inside. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with a 39-year-old male who was on probation, 32-year-old Thor Myers, who was wanted through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office and a known female. All three were removed from the residence, and Myers was housed in county jail on warrants. Police also issued a citation to the 39-year-old male as a result of the incident.
Curwensville Borough
- Police responded to a reported fire alarm at the Curwensville High School. Upon arrival, it was learned there wasn’t a fire.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at the Curwensville Moose Lodge. Upon arrival, police located a female sleeping inside a vehicle.
- Police received a report about a domestic on Anderson Avenue. Upon arrival, police say a male was asked to leave, which he did.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment. Further, police made contact with a male and told him to cease harassing remarks towards a female.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the area of Thompson and George streets. However, police were unable to locate the vehicle.
- Police received a report about wires down in the area of Irvin Park Road after a tree had fallen, causing sparks to ignite debris. The fire department arrived and police cleared the scene.
- Police received a report about criminal mischief to vehicles in the Chestnut Street area. Police will provide more patrols in the area; anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police located a suspicious vehicle with four occupants in Irvin Park. They were asked to leave the park because it was after hours.
- State Constables were assisted with an eviction at an Eastview Drive address.
- Police were contacted after a needle was located near the park at the Curwensville High School. Police collected and disposed of the needle.
- Police received a report about a landlord-tenant issue on Schofield Street., and it was turned over to the code enforcement officer.
- Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Thompson Street. According to police, the driver of a Jeep backed into another vehicle. No injuries occurred and both parties exchanged information.
- Police responded to a reported noise complaint on Washington Avenue. Upon arrival, police found a male who was using a leaf blower, and he agreed to stop for the evening.
- Police received a report about a theft at a Fourth Avenue residence. During the incident, someone allegedly took tools, a television and other items. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft at Ridgeview Elder Care. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police responded to a reported noise complaint on Susquehanna Avenue. Further, police found an upstairs neighbor was being too loud and asked them to cease their actions.
- Police responded to a reported noise complaint in the area of Bloomington Avenue. Police spoke with both parties, and the situation was resolved.
- Police recovered a lost wallet, which was returned to the owner’s address.
- Police handled an incident of harassment by communications at the Curwensville High School.
DuBois City
- On Nov. 20, police observed a male who appeared to be sleeping at the outdoor tables at Sheetz on North Brady Street. Contact was made with the male who told police he was homeless and there to rest for a bit. He was found to be OK and said he’d move along.
- Police received a report about a possible Protection from Abuse order violation Nov. 20. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received several reports about criminal mischief Nov. 20 at CJ Packaging. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about an incident of fraud Nov. 20. During the incident, someone allegedly used a church’s credit card to make an online purchase from Home Depot, totaling $449.6 and a donation of $10 to the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C.
- Police received an open line 911 call in relation to a domestic disturbance Nov. 20. According to police, a female placed the call for assistance; however, a male claimed it wasn’t necessary for officers to respond. He told police his ex-girlfriend called, and she had left the scene. Upon arrival, it was found the male had lied, the caller was still on-scene and she wanted the male to leave. Police remained on stand-by until the male gathered some tools and departed.
- On Friday police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle at a business in the 100 block of Beaver Drive. According to police, an employee said over the past two weeks, someone had caused damage to a box truck several times while it was parked there overnight. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run Friday on East Weber Avenue. According to police, a vehicle struck a pole, then fled the scene. Upon arrival, police observed damage to the pole and silver fragments believed to be from the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle crash Friday in the 400 block of Beaver Drive. According to police, the female driver attempted to avoid another vehicle, at which point her own vehicle struck the cement pillar of a utility pole. No injuries were reported, and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run Friday in a business parking lot on Hoover Avenue. According to police, an older, black pick-up truck struck the front fender of a parked vehicle, then fled the scene. Police were able to review video surveillance and observe a female driver in the suspect vehicle. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- On Saturday police received multiple reports about residences and vehicles being hit with eggs. According to police, a window was broken at one home after being hit with an egg. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about a disorder Saturday at a business in the 100 block of North Brady Street. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with several individuals, and it was found one allegedly stole items from the business. Police say a juvenile male will be cited for retail theft and an adult male for disorderly conduct.
- Police received a report about a domestic Saturday in the 100 block of West DuBois Avenue. During the incident, a male allegedly assaulted a female and also threatened to kill her. He was subsequently placed under arrest on assault and terroristic threats charges, and housed in county jail to await arraignment.
