State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred Friday on Wayne Road in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s residence and removed multiple firearms. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-371-4652.
Lawrence Township
- Police responded to a reported hit-and-run crash that occurred sometime between Oct. 28 and Monday on Patton Street in Lawrence Township. According to police, an unknown vehicle struck a parked Chevrolet Silverado, causing damage to its right, rear bumper. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Sandy Township
- Police reported a false alarm occurred Friday at Staples.
- Police received a report about a phone scam Friday from a Treasure Lake resident. According to police, a caller left a message through her answering service that there was a malfunction with her computer. When she returned the call, she realized it was a scam and didn’t provide any personal information.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute Friday at a Merris Avenue residence. According to police, the caller said she and her teenage son had an argument over plans he had with friends. She alleged he became violent before leaving their home; he was later found in Reynoldsville. Police handled the situation without further incident.
- Saturday police reported a U-Haul truck driven by a 50-year-old Dubois woman struck an eave on a storage unit building. No injuries and minor damage were reported as a result.
- Saturday police received a report about a theft from a job site in Treasure Lake. During the incident, an employee allegedly took tools from the site.
- Police received a harassment complaint from a DuBois woman on Saturday. According to police, she said her estranged husband works at an area store and when she patronizes the store, he harasses her.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle crash Saturday at the intersection of Shaffer Road and Bee Line Highway. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Reynoldsville boy and a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old Rockton man collided at the intersection. No injuries were reported as a result, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Saturday police reported that Sheetz employees turned over a small purse, which belonged to a Rossiter woman, that contained drug paraphernalia.
- Police received a report about a domestic assault Saturday on Hanes Drive. During the incident, a woman claimed that her 57-year-old boyfriend assaulted her after he’d consumed alcohol all day. However, police didn’t observe any “fresh wounds,” and said the woman couldn’t provide a “consistent story.” She was assisted with locating a place to stay for the night.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief Saturday in Treasure Lake. According to police, someone broke a light in a resident’s yard.
- Police received a report about a damaged mailbox Sunday on Clear Run Road. According to police, someone knocked a resident’s mailbox off its post, causing $75 worth of damage.
- Police reported a false alarm occurred Sunday at Sally Beauty Supply.
- Police received a report about a damaged mailbox Sunday on Oklahoma Salem Road. Damage is estimated at $100.
- Sunday police were contacted by a 33-year-old Dixon Avenue man who reported that someone put rude stickers on his vehicle.
- Sunday police were contacted by a woman who reported that she’d accidentally left $20 in the ATM machine at Wal-Mart. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle crash Sunday on Treasure Lake Road. According to police, a 25-year-old DuBois man lost control of his vehicle when a deer ran out onto the roadway. His vehicle left the roadway, hit a ditch and came to a rest on its side. No injuries were reported as a result; however, police believe alcohol was a factor. Because the man failed standard field sobriety tests, he was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time.
