State police at Clearfield
- State police reported an escape Thursday from the Quehanna Boot Camp in Karthaus Township. According to state police, the suspect was transferred from the boot camp via bus in Philipsburg, and was supposed to report to the ADAPT Halfway House in Reading, Pa. However, they failed to show and subsequently became an escapee.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a parking compliant on Spruce Street. Upon arrival, police found an illegally parked vehicle.
- Police received a report about an abandoned cooler in the area of East Market and South Front streets. Upon arrival, police located an orange cooler that contained bottles of water. The owner may contact the Clearfield Borough police station.
- Police received a report about unattended kids outside along East Cherry Street. Upon arrival, police handled the situation on-scene.
- Police received a report about a parking complaint on South Fourth Street because a vehicle was blocking a driveway. While on-scene, the owner arrived and moved the vehicle.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a retail theft Wednesday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clearfield. According to police, the suspect was identified as a 30-year-old Clearfield man who fled on foot through the parking lot into a wooded area. Police conducted a search with negative results, and the suspect remains at-large. Anyone with information is asked to contact township police.
Sandy Township
- On Monday police were contacted by the father and step-father of a 14-year-old Treasure Lake boy and they reported that a 15-year-old Falls Creek boy was sending their son harassing messages on social media. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- On Monday police were contacted by a tractor-trailer driver who reported that another truck struck his while it was parked in the Pilot parking lot. Minor damage and no injuries were reported as a result.
- On Tuesday police were contacted by Lowe’s store employees who reported that two people took a chainsaw and a two-pack of 24-volt batteries without paying for them on Oct. 27. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- On Tuesday police were contacted by Monroe Muffler employees who reported a customer was passed out inside a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located a 57-year-old Hanes Drive man who had driven a 64-year-old neighbor’s vehicle to the store for service. However, the neighbor who was with him had taken the keys to the vehicle because he was reportedly drunk. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Tuesday police were contacted by a 30-year-old Hanes Drive man who reported that his 20-year-old estranged wife kicked him while they were engaged in an argument over custody issues. Officers handled the situation without incident.
