Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of forgery/theft that occurred Wednesday at Northwest Bank. During the incident, someone allegedly used a counterfeit check to withdraw funds from the victim’s bank account. The investigation remains open at this time.
- Police received a report about an assault that occurred Monday at the Soaring Heights School. According to police, a student became unruly because they didn’t want to go to gym class. They allegedly punched and kicked several staff members, and it required six people to detain them until police arrival. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Curwensville Borough
- Fire and emergency personnel were assisted with a medical emergency in the area of Trails End Road. According to police, an elderly male fell over a steep embankment. He was subsequently flown by medical helicopter for treatment.
- Children, Youth and Family Services personnel were assisted at a local residence. According to police, children were being removed from the home and a parent made comments about self-harm.
- Police received a report about a male who made comments about plans he had to run away from his home. However, he was located with family outside of Curwensville Borough.
- Adult Protective Services personnel were assisted after a known female reportedly left a hospital against medical advice.
- Police received a report from animal control regarding a possible stolen cat trap in the area of Anderson Avenue.
- Police answered a male’s questions regarding a Protection from Abuse order and threats previously made against him.
- Police conducted a vehicle stop along state Route 879 after which a male was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.
- Police conducted a vehicle stop and detected the odor of marijuana. Charges are currently pending because police reportedly located drugs inside the vehicle.
- Police received a complaint regarding threats reportedly made on social media against students at the Curwensville School District.
- Police received information about a possible sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
