CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners addressed several items of business at Tuesday’s regular board meeting.
Commissioner John A. Sobel, chair, announced vacancies on several local governing boards. He said there was one open seat on the Planning Commission, Curwensville Lake Authority and Community Action and two open seats on Solid Waste Authority.
Sobel said any interested person should submit a letter to the commissioners’ office as soon as possible.
In other business, the commissioners:
- proclaimed November as National Adoption Month at the request of Shannon Kelly of the Children’s Aid Society in Clearfield. Kelly said an Adoption Matching event will be held Nov. 13, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., at Luigi’s Villa, DuBois.
- approved a reimbursement agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for the Kellytown Bridge project. Chief Clerk Lisa McFadden reported the bridge has been out of service for 25-plus years, and hopefully the structure will be removed next year to remove any liability from the county.
- approved a letter of interest for submission to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as part of the application process for the county’s 2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan.
- approved the Behavioral Health Alliance of Rural Pennsylvania Ordinance No. 2, which had previously been advertised.
- approved an intergovernmental cooperation agreement and letter of intent that’s submitted to the Department of Human Services to inform of the county’s intent to be part of BHARP.
- approved an intergovernmental agreement with FCI Loretto.
- approved the minutes from the Oct. 8 board meeting.
- approved one new hire, one employee transfer and one employee separation/retirement.
- approved the bills as presented by the Controller’s office.
- authorized Controller Tom Adamson to pay future bills since the commissioners will not meet Nov. 5, which is Election Day.
