Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a fight Wednesday at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. During the incident, a 13-year-old girl allegedly punched and pushed a 12-year-old girl. Charges were filed against the older girl as a result.
- Police received a report about a retail theft Wednesday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clearfield. During the incident, a 33-year-old Philipsburg man allegedly removed price tags from items and placed them on more expensive items. When he was confronted by store staff, police say he became disorderly. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported a DUI occurred Thursday in the area of Teddy Bear Lane and Goshen Road. According to police, information was initially received about a trespass by motor vehicle incident, during which damage occurred to the victim’s property. Upon arrival in the area, police located the vehicle, which was stopped on Goshen Road. Upon further investigation, it was found the driver – a 33-year-old Clearfield man – was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw and housed in county jail per the Probation Department’s request. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about the theft of leased property from Rent A Center, Clearfield. According to police, a 43-year-old Morrisdale woman rented a washer and dryer in June, and made the initial payment. Since then, she has neither made any payments, nor responded to any phone calls or certified letters from the store. Additionally, police say she hasn’t returned the property or responded to police contact. As a result, charges will be filed against the woman through the district court.
- Police received a report about a Protection from Abuse order violation that occurred Wednesday on Barn Road, Clearfield. During the incident, a 38-year-old Reynoldsville man allegedly contacted the victim through a third party. She also said he’s been stalking and watching her when she picks up their children. Charges were filed against the man through the district court.
DuBois City
- On Tuesday police received a report about people sleeping inside the women’s restroom at the City Park. According to police, a male and female were found sleeping in the handicap stall. After being awoken, they related they were homeless, couldn’t find a place to stay and were there to try to keep warm. Police advised they couldn’t stay there but provided information on alternative places where help was available.
- On Tuesday police received a report about two bicycles that were left on the lawn in the area of the DuBois Middle School. Both bicycles were removed and taken to the impound.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft on Tuesday. According to police, a male said while he was at work, someone entered his vehicle and removed his wallet and a large cup of change. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle Tuesday on Maple Avenue. Upon arrival, the driver told police the driver’s side front wheel came off his truck. No injuries were reported, and towing services assisted on-scene.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday police were contacted by Treasure Lake Security, which reported that someone drove through the grassy area, near the stage, at the former Ski Lodge. Damage has been estimated at $378.
- On Wednesday police were contacted by a resident who found drug paraphernalia on Rockton Road near Cook Road. Officers collected the items and properly disposed of them.
- On Wednesday police received a report about a scam from a74-year-old Treasure Lake man. According to police, the man’s computer was infected with a virus and he received a ransom e-mail from a hacker. The hacker demanded $500 to unlock his computer. Police say the man knew this was a scam, and had professionals look at his computer.
- Police received a report about an activated burglar alarm Wednesday at the Friendly Tavern. Upon arrival, officers found unlocked doors; however, everything else appeared to be OK.
- Police reported a false alarm Thursday at a Treasure Lake residence.
- Police reported a false alarm Thursday at the Law & Finance Building.
- On Thursday police responded to Pilot where a 22-year-old Peoria, Ill., woman reported she’d paid a truck driver to take her and her five-year-old daughter from Georgia to Chicago. She claimed he’d become abusive during their trip, and stated she would like her money back. When police spoke with the 29-year-old Atlanta man he denied the allegations; police were also unable to substantiate the allegations made against him. Police say the woman and her child found other transportation, and the situation was handled without incident.
- On Thursday police were contacted by a South Eighth Street resident who reported that someone siphoned gas from his vehicle.
