State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a bad check that was passed July 7 at the Rendezvous Restaurant in Decatur Township. According to state police, a 47-year-old Philipsburg woman passed the check knowing she didn’t have sufficient funds in her account. On Wednesday state police cited the woman through the district court in Kylertown.
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at the Bigler YMCA in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the building through an unlocked exterior door, forced entry into the main office and removed items belonging to the YMCA. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
Clearfield Borough
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of North Third and Bridge streets. During the stop, it was found the driver had an active warrant through the Lawrence Township police. Township officers arrived and the male satisfied the warrant on-scene.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person in the area of Clearfield and Weaver streets. A witness told police she was stopped in her vehicle at a stop sign when she heard a male yell. Then, she said he walked up to her passenger’s side door, asked for a ride and she refused. Police were unable to make contact with the male, but his identity is known.
- State parole officers were assisted at a Clearfield Street residence. During a search, police allegedly found multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
- Police responded to a non-reportable accident near the Clearfield YMCA along North Second Street. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment. Police subsequently made contact with a male, and he was told to cease contact with a female.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a disturbance on Barn Road. Borough officers cleared once the scene was under control.
- Police received a report about an incident of trespassing at a residence in the 1100 block of Dorey Street. A witness told police a male walked onto her porch, knocked at the door and asked to come inside. Because she did not know the male, she told him to leave, which he did. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the male.
Sandy Township
- On Friday police received a report about two small children who were walking across the Sandy Bridge without supervision. However, the children were gone upon police arrival.
- On Friday police were contacted by Wal-Mart employees in reference to two 16-yead-old girls who allegedly attempted to take items from the store without paying by concealing them in their waistbands. Police say the items had a total value of $103.60; charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Saturday police were contacted by a 38-year-old DuBois woman who alleged that she was assaulted in the Wal-Mart parking lot after she confronted a 25-year-old Treasure Lake woman over her parenting. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a 25-year-old Johnsonburg man who alleged that when he went to his estranged wife’s residence to collect his belongings, a 27-year-old DuBois man started yelling at him and also threatened him with a shovel. However, according to police, his 22-year-old estranged wife said he almost hit children that were playing in the yard when he pulled in, and this was why they yelled at him. Police handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute Sunday at a Kilmer Road residence. Upon arrival, it was learned there had been a verbal argument, and the situation was handled without incident.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a tractor-trailer driver who reported that his truck was hit and damaged on its front driver’s side while parked in the Pilot lot. Afterwards, he said the other driver left the scene.
