State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about a burglary/theft that occurred between Aug. 15 and Aug. 19 on Sawmill Drive in Snyder Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s unlocked home, which is under construction, and removed numerous tools, wiring and other miscellaneous materials. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-371-4652.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about a Protection from Abuse order violation that occurred Aug. 17 on Circle Drive in Rose Township. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued for 51-year-old George Fusco of Brookville. Marienville-based state troopers took Fusco into custody and to the Jefferson County Jail. Fusco was later arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. The investigation remains open pending a preliminary hearing.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Aug. 20-21 on Solley Road in Burnside Township. During the incident, someone allegedly spray-painted words on the roadway near the victim’s residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-938-0510.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Sunday on Hogback Road in Clearfield. Upon arrival, it was learned that one tire and two red ratchet straps were stolen from a Jeep. Police described the tire as being a BF Goodrich Mud Terrain LT 225/75 R17. Anyone with information is asked to contact township police.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred Aug. 15 at the Lawrence Park Village in Clearfield. Upon arrival, it was learned two Clearfield men had been fighting by the mailboxes, and they were separated by a 16-year-old male juvenile. Both men were cited for the incident.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about a case of fraud, which involved a Curwensville resident and a local contractor. However, it was learned there wasn’t a contract agreement in place, and therefore, it was civil in nature.
- Police received a report about a male who was to be supervising children but appeared to be passed out at a Schofield Street address. He was allegedly under the influence and arrested for child endangerment. State police and Children & Youth Services assisted on-scene.
- Police received a complaint about open burning at an Allegheny Street residence.
- Police received a complaint about reckless driving on Naulton Road. According to police, the driver of a white Ford pick-up truck tailgated and then passed another vehicle on the roadway.
- Police were notified that a male had been transported to the Clearfield County Jail, because he had an active criminal warrant through the Curwensville Police Department. He was subsequently taken to be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mike Morris.
- Police took a male into custody after it was learned he had an active warrant through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. He was then released because there wasn’t a valid, hard copy of the warrant.
- Police responded to an animal complaint in the area of Schofield Street and Cooper Road. The animal’s owner was located and responded to the scene to take custody of the loose dog.
- Police took a male into custody for public drunkenness following a report of disorderly conduct. According to police, the male was held down because he had attempted to fight others on-scene.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a woman who had walked out of Penn Highlands West. She wasn’t located by officers.
- Police were requested to meet with a woman at Penn Highlands West. She said her medications were stolen; the investigation continues.
- Police received a report about a theft from a motor vehicle at the City Park. A woman told police someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and removed her prescription medications. The investigation continues.
- Police took a male into custody on a mental health warrant after he was located at Sheetz. He was transported to Penn Highlands Hospital for an evaluation.
- Police received a report about an intoxicated and disorderly male in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, contact was made and witnesses said the male struck several people. However, police noted the individuals didn’t want to have the male prosecuted, and he was subsequently transported to his residence.
- Police received a report about damage that occurred to a building in the 100 block of South Brady Street. The investigation continues.
- Police reported a large volume of checks, which were cashed in the 1960’s, were found. The checks were then turned over to police; anyone with information is asked to contact the station.
- Police received a report about a retail theft that occurred at the Family Dollar store. During the incident, a male allegedly stole T-shirts; he was located by police and arrested.
