CLEARFIELD – A 38-year-old Bloomsburg, Pa., woman is wanted for missing her court date in a Clearfield County drug case.
According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., Sarah Jane Karcher failed to appear for criminal call on July 11, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Feb. 26, Trooper Stephen Peterson of the Pennsylvania State Police’s Drug Law Central Section charged Karcher with possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
The charges stem from an incident Feb. 14 in Lawrence Township when Karcher was a passenger of a vehicle involved in a drug delivery to a confidential informant, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Following the drug delivery, a traffic stop was conducted and the driver was placed under arrest. Inside the vehicle, troopers allegedly found a female’s zip-up pouch that contained methamphetamine, two smoking devices, a scale and numerous Ziploc baggies.
On April 10, a preliminary hearing was held and all charges were held to county court. On July 11, Karcher failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for her arrest, Shaw said.
Karcher is described as a Caucasian female standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall. She also has brown hair and eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of Karcher’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
