DUBOIS – A handful of items of business were addressed by members of the DuBois City Council on Monday night.
First, Councilwoman Diane Bernardo said the city would like Clearfield County to be more “proactive” regarding properties that have qualified for judicial sale, specifically blighted buildings.
It was noted that council members have addressed this matter in a letter to the county’s board of commissioners. “Blight makes any municipality in Clearfield County an undesirable place to be,” said Bernardo.
Also, city officials are looking into how K-9 units benefit police departments. Council said St. Marys police had sent a K-9 and handler to give a presentation prior to the meeting.
Council and city officials also reported that the Pershing parking lot’s kiosk should be installed soon. It’s expected to be delivered within the next couple of weeks.
