JAY TOWNSHIP – Novey Recycling Inc. of Clearfield has announced its acquisition of the scrap metal processing and recycling division of GAP Enterprises Inc. The facility is located in Jay Township, near St. Marys.
Paul and Kathy Blake have owned and operated GAP Enterprises for more than 16 years and primarily as a scrap metal recycling facility, according to Novey Operations Manager Mike Boal.
“As their business grows in other areas, such as excavation, demolition and similar services, they have decided to place their focus in that direction,” he said.
“They have built a reputation of being an honest, hard-working, family-owned and operated company with customer service and respect for their customers and employees being a priority.
“This is how we operate Novey Recycling, as well. Kathy and Paul would like to thank all of their customers – past and present – for allowing them to serve you.
“They will now be looking toward the future in this new direction and hope to be able to provide an excellent level of customer service there, as well.”
Boal said Novey’s acquisition of the scrap metal processing and recycling division of GAP Enterprises will turn out positive for everyone.
“Novey Recycling is a 113-year-old scrap metal processor,” he said. “As we’ve expanded our commercial and industrial accounts to the north, the logistics made this acquisition a no brainer.
“We’ve developed a plan for this transition, and are assuring there will be no interruption in service to existing accounts.
“We look forward to meeting and working with the citizens and businesses of the St. Marys, Ridgway, Johnsonburg and Emporium areas.”
He said regardless of whether it’s an appliance, aluminum cans, a load of miscellaneous scrap metal, an automobile or heavy equipment or an industrial account, Novey Recycling is committed to growing the local economy and building relationships with its customers.
Boal also said Novey Recycling is looking to hire some additional employees. Applications are available at its Clearfield location during normal business hours.
Applications can also be obtained at the former GAP Enterprises Inc. facility, located at 1817 Redwood Ave., in Weedville.
