Spring is here. Flowers are blooming, trees are budding and the Clearfield Centers for Active Living are on the move.
The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc. and the Clearfield County Centers for Active Living are planning several bus trips for Clearfield County residents, age 55 and older.
The bus trips are set up as a special activity that allows seniors the opportunity to travel at a special rate that they can afford to preplanned historical and tourist sites in Pennsylvania.
This allows some seniors to experience events and see places they have never been able to visit in the past.
The following schedule for these Special Center Without Walls bus trips this spring and early summer is as follows:

Trip to Flight 93 Memorial and Quecreek Rescue Site:
Enjoy an awe-inspiring visit to the Flight 93 Memorial and Quecreek Rescue Site, including a self-guided tour of the visitor center, chimes and crash site, lunch buffet at Oakhurst Grille & Event Center, presentation at the Quecreek Mine Rescue site and free time to wander about the museum and site.
The bus will depart the Clearfield Wal-Mart parking lot at 8 a.m. and will return at approximately 6:45 p.m. The price for this trip is $45.

Hershey Gardens & Turkey Hill Experience:
Take a fun-filled trip to Hershey Gardens, followed by a Pennsylvania Dutch style lunch buffet and a group experience at Turkey Hill Dairy.
Hershey Gardens features a breathtaking assortment of flowers and shrubs, a stately collection of rare, signature trees and various programs designed to delight visitors of all ages.
The Turkey Hill Experience includes interactive exhibits allowing you to learn about dairy culture, the story of Turkey Hill Dairy and how the company’s ice cream and iced tea flavors are selected and created.
The bus will depart the Clearfield Wal-Mart parking lot at 7 a.m. June 8 and will return at approximately 7 p.m. The price for this trip is $50.

Quiet Creek Herb Farm:
Join to travel to Quiet Creek Herb Farm in Brookville. Participants will be introduced to Quiet Creek’s favorite mushrooms and their medicinal uses, and will then sample them in a sumptuous luncheon, compliments of the Clearfield-Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission.
A presentation on “Gambling away the Golden Years” will be held, along with a brief discussion and a few games of “Fabulous 50’s Jeopardy!”
The bus will leave Wal-Mart, 100 Supercenter Dr., Clearfield, promptly at 8 a.m. and should return to Clearfield at approximately 3 p.m. The price for this trip is $5.
