CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough will once again offer its residents curbside pickup of lawn and yard waste that’s accumulated over the winter months.
Pickup will take place the week of April 1 for the west side of the river. It will be the week of April 8 for the east side of the river.
All materials must be placed at the curb; there are no exceptions. Materials may be put out for collection after 7 p.m. on the evening prior to the scheduled collection.
Property owners may also dispose of yard waste at the borough’s compost site, located on 21st Street.
Borough officials remind that:
- leaves and lawn clippings must be in biodegradable bags or boxes or loose.
- no building materials (blocks, bricks, siding or roofing) are permitted.
- No garbage or rubbish (including appliances and furniture) are permitted.
- No metal is permitted.
Also, officials say that dumping at the borough’s garage, located on Power Avenue, is strictly prohibited and violators will be prosecuted.
Officials remind that the borough offers curbside recycling for aluminum cans, bimetallic cans and most clear, green and brown glass. Pickup is the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
Commercial establishments, located in Clearfield Borough, are independently required to recycle items as set forth by the recycling ordinance.
A copy of this recycling ordinance may be obtained at the borough’s administrative office.
