HOUTZDALE – Approximately 300 residents from Clearfield County and the surrounding areas came to Houtzdale on Saturday to support the Central PA Zoological Society’s fundraising event, Animals Out the WaZoo. The festival featured a petting zoo with miniature horses, goats, and sheep provided by Albright’s Mini Green Acres, reptile education programs presented by CPZS, and an extensive Chinese auction that included a chance to win the opportunity to feed the Society’s emus. Also exhibiting at the festival were various local food and craft vendors and the Clearfield County Animal Response Team.
“We are very pleased with the positive response the Society got from those attending Animals Out the WaZoo,” said board president Ryan Albright. “Everyone, especially the children, seemed to really enjoy themselves.”
Animals Out the WaZoo will become an annual fundraising event for CPZS, according to Albright. “Our first year was a great success; we’re looking forward to making next year even better.”
