State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Sunday on Blue Spruce Road in Decatur Township. During the incident, a 62-year-old Philipsburg man and the female victim were involved in a verbal dispute. It escalated when he allegedly punched her in the back of the head. Then, he fled the scene. State police have filed charges against the man through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a minor motor vehicle crash along South Second Street. According to police, a driver hit a patch of ice and went off the roadway. No injuries were reported in the crash. However, the driver was under suspension, and they had warrants; police took them into custody and to county jail.
- Police responded to an activated alarm at a local business. Upon arrival, police found it was set off accidentally by an employee.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Bigler Avenue. According to police, a driver attempted to negotiate a turn and lost control on the icy roadway. Then, their vehicle struck the guardrail. Police say the driver was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft of a bank card at a local establishment. Police say it was used to make fraudulent purchases, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a phone scam. According to police, the victim received a call from a male claiming that she’d won a prize and had to pay taxes by purchasing Amazon pre-paid cards.
- Police responded to a minor vehicle crash on Clearfield Street. According to police, a driver pulled out at a stop sign but failed to see an approaching vehicle. Minor injuries were reported in the crash, and one vehicle was towed from the scene.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about scattered rubbish Sunday on Hill Street Extension. Upon arrival on-scene, police say the owner of the trash was identified after the 26-year-old Clearfield woman’s name was found on numerous items. She will be cited for the incident.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred Jan. 25 at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. During the incident, two juveniles were allegedly found, by the school resource officer, causing damage to a restroom. Police have filed charges against both juveniles.
Sandy Township
- Police received an anonymous report Saturday about a couple, along with their four-year-old child, living without electric and water at an Overdorf Avenue residence. Upon further investigation, officers learned the family was staying with a relative until repairs were made to their home. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Saturday Treasure Lake Security reported to police that someone had vandalized a realty and a stop sign in the area of Dominica Road.
- On Saturday police received a report from a 54-year-old Wilson Avenue resident who stated she was being harassed by her 46-year-old boyfriend via phone messages. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report of an open door Saturday at a Circle Road residence. According to police, the trailer was unoccupied and it appeared the door was accidentally knocked open. Police didn’t observe any footprints in the snow to indicate anyone had made entry.
- Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash Saturday. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 78-year-old DuBois man ran into a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old DuBois woman while both were traveling through the Save A Lot parking lot. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, and no injuries were reported.
- On Saturday police received a report from a Hanes Drive woman about her neighbor’s kids. According to police, the kids were looking into her patio window and “agitating” her dog. She said they were also throwing stuff in her yard. Police handled the situation without incident.
- Police reported a false alarm at CNB Bank on Saturday.
- On Sunday police received a report from a 54-year-old Treasure Lake man who stated that someone had thrown paint-filled balloons at his Mercedes that was parked in his driveway along Treasure Lake Road.
- Police reported a false alarm at Tri-County Church on Sunday.
- On Sunday police received a report from a 59-year-old New Jersey man who stated that while his vehicle was parked at the Hampton Inn, someone damaged it. He said they possibly keyed and dented it on the passenger’s side.
- Police received a report from Long John Silvers employees Sunday after they received a counterfeit $20 the week before. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
