CLEARFIELD – On Friday morning plant officials from BioEnergy International LLC and dignitaries from across Clearfield County gathered to announce the hiring process for plant workers at their Bionol Clearfield LLC station.
Vice President of Operations Rudy Fogelman thanked a number of people for their parts in making the plant, located off of US Route 322 in the East End of Clearfield Borough, a reality.
One of the recent complaints coming from county residents has been that BioEnergy has not hired enough local residents for the construction phase of their Bionol Clearfield plant. One resident in particular asked why PA CareerLink was not utilized.
Fogelman also announced that starting today, applications will be accepted for daily plant operation through PA CareerLink. Open positions will be posted on the BioEnergy Web site and on the PA CareerLink Web site. Resumes may be accepted online or mailed to PA CareerLink, 1125 Linden Street, Clearfield, PA 16830. Please reference the job number or Bionol Clearfield. Due to the volume of anticipated interest, the company asks that interested individuals do not call regarding open positions.
Fogelman said that construction on the plant is coming to a close around Jan. 3, 2010. He said that employees need to be on site 60 days prior to that date.
He stated that about 15-17 positions will be posted on PA CareerLink, which will equate to around 55 jobs. He said applications will be accepted for the next month to month-and-a-half. From there, PA CareerLink will screen applicants. BioEnergy will then conduct interviews. In October letters will be sent out to those being offered jobs. Once folks are hired, there will be a two-month training period, some of it at the Clearfield plant, some of it at other plants in other states.
A job fair will also be held on Aug. 11 and Aug. 12 at the Lawrence Hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“Today we are on the cusp of creating full-time jobs … jobs that will create more jobs,” said state Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 Houtzdale.
“This has been the biggest thing to ever happen in Clearfield County,” continued George, who also noted that it was the largest investment in the county’s history.
George said that one of the most impressive things about BioEnergy was their “implicit belief in Clearfield County and its people.”
“Today Clearfield County puts that belief into action.”
