Alice G. Sherkosky, 91, of DuBois died Thursday at her daughter’s home in DuBois.
Born on Jan. 2, 1919 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Scott and Mae Florence (Fallon) Wilson. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Mrs. Sherkosky was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in DuBois. She was a homemaker.
She married John Sherkosky on May 4, 1938. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1992. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Sherkosky.
Mrs. Sherkosky is survived by three daughters, Joan Godak, Debra Sherkosky and Kathleen Vitarelli, all of DuBois; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2 -4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, with the Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
