Wayne E. Knisley, 82, of Rock Run Rd., Rockton, died at home on Sept. 22, 2010. He was the husband of the late Marjorie A. (Perrin) Knisley.
Born in Allens Mills on March 23, 1928, he was a son of the late Sam B. and Beulah (Jones) Knisley. Mr. Knisley met and married Marjorie A. Perrin in Falls Creek on Dec. 26, 1950. Together, they raised their children and ran the family farm together until she died on March 28, 2009.
Mr. Knisley worked the family farm before joining the US Army in 1950 and served during the Korean Conflict. After returning from the military, he was a truck driver for Clearfield Cheese. He continued to work on the farm while employed as a truck driver until 1960, when he and Marjorie decided to work the farm full time.
Mr. Knisley was of the Protestant faith. He belonged to the American Legion and the PA Farm Bureau.
Mr. Knisley is survived by three sons, Robert W. (Glenda D. ) Knisley of Rockton, Dale A. (Dawn M.) Knisley of Rockton, and David W. Weinbrenner of CA; one daughter, Judith E. Knisley of CT; three grandchildren, Rick Knisley, Christina Beatty, and Kristen Knisley; and four great grandchildren, Trinitie Knisley, Kameron Knisley, Austin Beatty, and Kinley Hand.
Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mr. Knisley in death are his parents; his wife, Marjorie; grandson, Cody J. Knisley; brother, Everett Knisley and sister, Marie Smith.
A funeral service will be held at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, DuBois on Sept. 27 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Bish officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sept. 26 from 2 to 9:00 p.m. and on Sept. 27 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek.
