Susan D. (Polinsky) Bungo, 81, of Houtzdale and formerly of Beccaria passed away at 9:10 p.m., Sept. 22, 2010 at Mt. Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

Mrs. Bungo was born on March 15, 1929 in Beccaria, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Junich) Polinsky.

She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey and a 1947 graduate of the former Madera High School.

Mrs. Bungo was employed at the former Puritan Sportswear Factory, Altoona for 22 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Schultz and her husband Cloyd of Williamstown, NJ and Michelle McCoy of Coalport. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Melissa Bungo of Houtzdale.

Mrs. Bungo is survived by eight grandchildren; Heather Meldrum, Jennifer Fanelli, Katie Pushkar, Taylor Kuhlmey, Madyson Bungo, Landon Bungo, Zachary Fox and Jordan Fox; seven great-grandchildren, Bryan Meldrum, Matthew Meldrum, Shane Meldrum, Anthony Fanelli, Riley Fanelli, Lily Pushkar and Nicholas Pushkar.

She is also survived by a sister, Martha Brubaker and her husband Galen of Goshen, IN and a number of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Bungo was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bungo on Nov. 8, 2009; 5 sisters and 4 brothers, Helen Ploinsky, Andrew Polinsky, Mike Polinsky, Joseph Polinsky, John Polinsky, Mary Ferrintino, Ann Genesi, Catherine Foust and Julia Round.

Friends will be received on Sept. 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Sept. 28 from 9 -10:30 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sept. 28 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey with Fr. Zab Amar as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ramey. Condolences may be sent to: condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com.
