CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County DUI Strike Force will conduct roving patrols in the week leading up to the Fourth of July Holiday as part of a statewide impaired driving enforcement initiative through July 4.
Motorists are urged to celebrate responsibly. Impairment begins with the first drink, and the safest choices are to never drive drunk or accept a ride for someone who has been drinking. If you plan to drink, select a designated driver beforehand and always remember to buckle up.
According to PennDOT 2017 data, there were 273 alcohol related crashes statewide between 6 PM Friday, June 30, and Sunday, July 9. Those crashes resulted in 10 fatalities. There were also 108 drug related crashes resulting in five fatalities during the same time frame.
