CLEARFIELD – A 19-year-old man is facing charges for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
On Thursday, Brock Allen Bowman of Clearfield, was charged by Officer Zachary S. Cowan of the Lawrence Township Police with aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, disseminate explicit sexual material to a minor, corruption of minors, criminal use of communication facility, and indecent assault-person less than 16-years-old.
Bowman is being held in the county jail in lieu of $250,000.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the girl’s mother contacted police to report a violation of a “no contact order” by Bowman who was prohibited from having contact with her daughter.
She told police Bowman’s mother had advised her that the two had been seeing each other through the weekend of May 12.
In an interview with police, the victim admitted to being with Bowman at his residence and gave details on what happened. She claimed they only kissed.
When pressed about this, she reportedly said they did have sex at other times, but not that weekend because he already knew he was in trouble and being investigated by Sandy Township Police.
The victim admitted to having contact with Bowman by phone and gave permission to the officer to review the content of the device, stating there may be naked photos of her on it, police said.
Among the photos on the phone were alleged images of Bowman’s penis that appeared he had taken himself and others that the victim had taken during face time sessions.
Further review reportedly revealed additional photos of the victim naked, semi-naked photos of them together and of sexual acts. There was allegedly a video of them having sex.
The inappropriate content was dated from Dec. 30 to April 27.
Bowman, whose bail was revoked on June 12 from a previous driving under the influence case, was interviewed at the jail on June 19.
At that time he allegedly admitted to being in a relationship with the victim since she was approximately 12-years-old, but it did not become sexual, he claimed until December.
He then reportedly stated he had sex with her five times.
After he was asked why he continued to see her after the no contact order was issued, he said he loved her and she was his best friend, according to the complaint.
Bowman agreed he was the one in the photos and the videos on the victim’s phone and stated he had deleted images from his own cell phone, police said.
Bowman was being co-operative with the officer until he was asked to provide a written statement. He said he did not “want to get into any more trouble” adding that he would be getting an attorney.
Bowman’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3 at 10:30 a.m. during centralized court.
