State police at Clearfield

• State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred June 5 at a Sixth Street residence in Morris Township. During the incident, a 54-year-old man opened the victim’s apartment door unexpectedly and threw a pack of cigarettes, hitting her dog. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• State police received a report about an incident of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on May 31 at a Lyleville Road residence in Beccaria Township. During the incident, the victim allowed a known 21-year-old man to use his vehicle under the condition that it would be returned the same day. However, the man allegedly failed to return the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
• State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred June 7 at a Curwensville-Tyrone Highway residence in Pike Township. During the incident, a 36-year-old Curwensville man allegedly harassed two victims. He was taken to the county jail on a detainer and charged through the district court.
• State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred June 1 at a Greenwood Road residence in Pike Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s home through the front door and removed a large amount of cash. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
• State police received a report about an assault that occurred Saturday at a Schoonover Road residence in Graham Township. During the incident, state police say a 35-year-old Morrisdale man unintentionally struck a 14-month-old child while engaged in a physical altercation with family members. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• State police will conduct impaired driving enforcement within Clearfield County during the month of July.
• State police responded to a crash Saturday on Interstate 80 westbound in Lawrence Township. According to the report, a vehicle struck a deer, and the driver wasn’t injured as a result.
• State police received a report about an incident of theft/criminal trespass that occurred June 6 at a Clover Hill Road residence in Bradford Township. During the incident, a 34-year-old woman allegedly entered the victim’s residence through an unlocked basement door and removed some of the victim’s deceased wife’s jewelry. Charges will be filed through the district court.

State police at Punxsutawney

• State police reported on a pursuit that occurred Saturday in Newburg Borough and Chest Township. According to state police, a traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle driven by a 49-year-old man after a summary violation. However, he allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. After an approximately 10-mile, high-speed pursuit, the vehicle was stopped and the man was taken into custody off Barrens Road in Chest Township.

Clearfield Borough

• Police received a report about a male who appeared to be under the influence on West Pine Street. When contact was made, police found the male was under the influence of numerous drugs. He was also found to be on probation and taken to the county jail.
• Police received a report about a hit-and-run that occurred on Daisy Street. Police have a known suspect.
• Lawrence Township police were assisted with arresting a male for burglary and other related charged in Glen Richey.
• Police received a report about a mother and daughter who were involved in a disturbance on Daisy Street. Police were able to defuse the situation at the scene.
• Police responded to an animal complaint along Daisy Street.
• Police were requested to check the welfare of a male on South Second Street who had failed to show up for work. Police located the male and learned that he was OK.
• Police responded to North Third Street where a male had removed an item from a store and left without paying for it. Upon arrival, police found the male had returned the item.

Lawrence Township

• Police responded to a crash Friday on Scribbers Road in Lawrence Township. Upon arrival, police learned all the occupants had exited the vehicle and a passenger, Tyler Timko, had fled the scene along the river bank due to outstanding warrants. Upon investigation, police suspected the female driver was under the influence, and she was transported to the hospital. Timko was later located after fleeing from police and was lodged in county jail. Charges will be filed against both occupants of the vehicle.
• Police received a report about suspicious persons June 7 at the Puff Super Value Store at the Clearfield Mall. Both persons – a male and female – were inside the women’s restroom. They were allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. Police say the female was in possession of several controlled substances. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• Police received a report about a couple who was involved in an altercation June 6 in the 1400 block of Daisy Street. It allegedly became physical in nature and the male left on foot carrying a large knife in a black sheath. He was later located by police and will be charged with disorderly conduct and being in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
• Police received a report about a possible incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle that occurred June 7 in the area of the Krebs and Clearfield-Glen Richey highways.  It occurred during response to an accident in the area and was reported later; a 54-year-old Hyde man was directing traffic with fire personnel and allegedly struck the victim’s vehicle with his fist.  Police are continuing their investigation at this time.

DuBois City

• Police responded to a reported 911 hang-up call on Fuller Avenue. Upon further investigation, police found a couple was arguing over the male’s infidelity. Police say they separated the couple and confirmed it was only verbal in nature. The female, however, was placed in county jail on outstanding warrants.
• Police received a report about a male who had medical issues and who had walked away from a house on Love Street. He was soon located a few blocks away.
• Police allegedly located drug paraphernalia in a vehicle after it was stopped due to a suspended registration. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
• Police conducted a traffic stop on Sandy Street. The driver was reportedly under DUI suspension and found in possession of a small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• Police received a fireworks complaint on West Weber Avenue. Upon arrival, police spoke with several juveniles who admitted to setting off the fireworks. Police advised the juveniles to stop their actions.
• Police received a report about a male who was urinating in bushes in the area of East Weber Avenue and South Brady Street. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate the male.
• Police received a report about a stray dog that attempted to bite a person on Luther Avenue. However, police were unable to locate the dog.
• Police were contacted by a patient who was being held in the Adult Mental Health Unit at Penn Highlands. She claimed she was being held there against her will. However, she did admit that she was committed on a mental health evaluation/commitment warrant. She was advised to pursue a remedy through the court system.
• Police were requested to assist a woman with mental health issues in the area of Brady Street and Park Avenue. Upon arrival, police assisted her with transportation to Penn Highlands for treatment.
• Police received a noise complaint that occurred on Spring Avenue. A female told police her upstairs neighbor was walking too loudly and she couldn’t sleep. Police advised her to contact her landlord to resolve the matter.
• Police received a report about a bear and cubs that were getting into garbage in the area of Tower Lane. Upon arrival, officers scared the bear toward the woods, but it soon returned. Police advised residents to contact the Pennsylvania Game Commission if the problem persists.
• Police located a male who was sleeping inside a structure in the city park. He was requested to leave the area.
• Police received a report about an active burglar alarm at a Jefferson Street address. Upon arrival, police found the building was secured; a key holder arrived to reset the alarm.
• Police responded to a non-reportable accident on East DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival, police found the drivers had exchanged information and they assisted, as needed, until clearing the scene.
• Police received a report about a male who was urinating behind a business on South Jared Street. Upon arrival, police located the male who denied urinating. Police will cite him for disorderly conduct.
• Police received a report about a dog that was running loose in the area of East Weber Avenue. Police recognized the dog due to previous calls and returned it to its owner.
• Police received a report about a loose dog on South State Street. The dog had a chip and was returned to its owner.
• Police received a report from a West Long Avenue resident who said his ex-girlfriend had his vehicle and hadn’t returned it. Police learned the female has regular access to the vehicle and hasn’t been directed to return it. It was explained to the male that he has to communicate that she’s no longer permitted to have the vehicle and then if she fails to return it, she may be criminally charged.
• Police received a report about shots being fired on West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police spoke with the caller who said they heard six gun shots. They also said they overheard someone outside saying a child was hit by gunfire. Upon investigation, police found there weren’t any gunshots fired or victims. Police say the caller has a history of auditory hallucinations and later sought mental health treatment at Penn Highlands.
• Police received a report about a small child who was in diapers walking around in the streets in the area of East Long Avenue. However, officers were unable to locate the child. The caller was contacted directly by police and it was determined the child was off of Oklahoma-Salem Road. Police turned the call over to Sandy Township police.
• Police were contacted by a female who wanted to report that she was being illegally held at Penn Highlands in the mental health unit. She was the same female who attempted to make the previous report. Police advised again that she was committed on a 302 warrant and needed to pursue with a civil case.
• Police received a report from a woman who was trying to sell an item for $100 on Facebook. According to police, she received a check for 1,000 percent of her asking price with directions to deposit it into her account and forward the difference to a third-party. Police say the woman realized it was a scam and didn’t follow the provided directions.
• Police received a report about a scam. According to police, a male was contacted by “Dr. Pepper” by letter and enclosed was a check for $2,390. He was directed to deposit the check, to keep $500 and forward the balance to a company to wrap his car in Dr. Pepper advertising. In return, he would be paid $500 per month. Police say the male followed the directions and the check was determined to be counterfeit.
• Police would like to warn citizens about the receipt of suspicious checks from unsolicited persons. Police say if you receive an unsolicited check or payment over the requested amount, it is likely fraudulent.
• Police received a report about suspicious activity at a Shaffer Avenue residence. The caller told police they were away for a period of time and when they returned, they found several things had been altered or tampered with around the house.
• Police were requested to assist emergency personnel on DuBois Street. An 18-year-old reportedly had consumed four hits of acid and he was being transported to the hospital for treatment.
• Police were requested to check the welfare of a male. When he was located, police found he was upset and he refused any assistance.
• Police received a report about an unwanted male at an apartment on South Brady Street. A female caller told police a known male was refusing to leave and had arrived to retrieve his marijuana he’d left there. This resulted in the couple engaging in an argument and the police being called to the scene. Police say the male refused to argue his claims with the police and fled prior to their arrival. There wasn’t any marijuana found inside the apartment, but police did indicate there was a strong odor of burnt marijuana.
• Police were dispatched to a reported fight in progress at the Eastside Sports Bar. Upon arrival, police located two brothers who were allegedly fighting in the parking lot. Police say one male was “highly intoxicated, uncooperative, disrespectful and belligerent to officers.” He demanded to be taken to jail. Police cited the male for public drunkenness and transported him to county jail.
• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Liberty Boulevard. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
• Police received a report about a bad check from a local bank. A customer had deposited a fraudulent check and then withdrew the money. The account was reportedly in the arrears in excess of $1,300. Police say the customer has failed to “make good” on the check.
• Police received a report about a stray dog on Rainbow Drive. The dog was later returned to its owner.
• Police allegedly located drug paraphernalia after stopping a vehicle for an expired registration. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block of South Avenue. Upon arrival, police determined a male driver lost control of his vehicle, striking a utility pole. Police say the utility pole was completely displaced and the wires were near ground level. Penelec personnel responded to the scene to replace the pole and restore power. Police will issue several citations to the driver.
• Police responded to an activated burglar alarm on Simmons Street. Upon arrival, it was learned the owner was out of a town and a relative had set off the alarm.
• Police received a report about a stolen bicycle on Second Street. Upon investigation, police found a male in possession of the bicycle and he believed it had been abandoned. He had taken the bicycle with him to repair and then sell. Police say the bicycle was returned to its owner with an apology. The owner also paid the male for replacing bicycle parts.
• Police received a report about a vehicle that was stolen on Beaver Drive. After speaking with the owner, it was determined their boyfriend had the vehicle, and if there had been a theft, it would have occurred in Rossiter.
• Police reported that a stray dog was brought to the station after being found loose on East Park Avenue. Officers were able to locate the owner who was cited for the incident.
• Police allegedly located drugs, paraphernalia and cash after a vehicle stop. The driver was also found to have arrest warrants and claimed ownership of the contraband. Criminal charges will be filed through the district court.
• Police responded to a burglar alarm at the American Legion. Upon arrival, police found that the building was secured.
• Police were dispatched for a reported domestic assault victim at the emergency room at Penn Highlands. Upon arrival, a female told police that her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her and they observed injuries. Police subsequently went to the residence to further investigate the incident and found the male had outstanding arrest warrants. He allegedly made statements about wanting to further injure the victim. The male surrendered to officers and was lodged in county jail. Criminal charges were approved by the district attorney and filed through the district court.
• Police reported that a female parolee was briefly detained at the station due to her disorderly and combative actions. She was later released and there aren’t any charges expected at this time.
• Police were requested to check the welfare of a couple on Knarr Street. A witness was there for a home visit and there wasn’t any answer at the door. However, she could hear small children inside. Upon arrival, police entered through an open door, and the family was located on the second floor watching television.
• Police served a DuBois man with a Protection from Abuse order at a business on Beaver Drive.
• Police received a report about a domestic assault in the 800 block of West Long Avenue. During the incident, a husband allegedly caused injuries to his pregnant wife. He was located by police “sleeping naked” in a vehicle at the rear of the residence. He refused to comply with police orders and resisted arrest but was eventually taken to county jail to await arraignment.
