CLEARFIELD – Work is continuing on PennDOT’s Route 26/Beaver Avenue project in State College and drivers can expect to encounter lane closures next week. Starting July 20, crews will close one lane on Beaver Avenue from Buckhout Street to Atherton Street and from Pugh Street to High Street. These lane closures will allow concrete patching work to continue. Flaggers may stop traffic at times. The work will be performed daily until September 1, with lane closures in place around the clock.
Overall project work includes concrete patching, joint cleaning/sealing, pavement markings, grinding, inlet grate replacement and asphalt paving. HRI, Inc. is the contractor on the $1.2 million project.
PennDOT reminds motorists to move through all work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up. For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit PennDOT’s Web site.
