CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced today that two informational meetings have been scheduled to promote Neighborhood Watch programs in Clearfield County.
Shaw stated that we have a number of very active Neighborhood Watch programs operating in Clearfield County and we are taking action to promote the growth of additional programs.
Shaw reported that a recent grant obtained through a collaborative effort of the District Attorney’s Office, Clearfield County Crimestoppers and Clearfield County EMA Director Josh Quigley enabled the purchase of signs that can be used to post throughout communities operating a watch program. The signs let criminals know that the community is operating a Neighborhood Watch program and discourages criminal activity from occurring.
Shaw stated that signs and other material will be available for existing and new Neighborhood Watch programs. Additionally, Shaw stated that representatives from local police, State Police, and the District Attorneys Office will be on hand to provide information and assistance in creating or maintaining Neighborhood Watch programs.
Shaw invited everyone to attend one of two planned meetings.
