State police at DuBois
- State police reported on a drug violation that occurred Sunday on Interstate 80 westbound in Washington Township. According to state police, a vehicle was stopped because the male driver was speeding. State police allegedly detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. It was subsequently searched and state police located a small amount of marijuana. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred March 17 at a Main Street residence in Anita. During the incident, a 31-year-old Punxsutawney man allegedly shoved and pushed the victims while involved in an argument. He was charged through the district court.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of endangering the welfare of children that occurred March 17 on Cloe Church Road in Bell Township. No further information was provided by state police.
- State police received a report about a theft/forgery incident that occurred between Sept. 20, 2016 and Feb. 15 at the Jefferson Manor Health Center. During the incident, someone allegedly forged checks in the victim’s name and stole an undetermined sum of money. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police reported on a DUI that occurred March 14 on West Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney Borough. A vehicle operated by a 53-year-old Punxsutawney man was stopped for a traffic violation, and he was allegedly determined to be under the influence. Charges were filed through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a noise complaint on West Second Avenue. Further, police requested that the individuals refrain from playing loud music.
- Police served warrants on a known male who was involved in a traffic stop with Lawrence Township officers.
- Police arrested a known female after it was found she held active warrants through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported to county jail.
- Police recovered a license plate that was turned in at the station.
- Police reported that a known male was found to be wanted through the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office after he attempted to purchase a firearm at Grice Gun Shop. He was detained until deputies arrived to take him into custody.
- Police received numerous incidents of bad checks.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of medication on South Second Street.
- Police arrested a female for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs in the area of East Fifth Street. Charges are currently pending lab results.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief. Upon further investigation, an arrow was found in a roof on Dorey Street. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police arrested a female for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs after she was observed acting erratic at Pantry Petroleum on Bigler Avenue. Charges are currently pending lab results.
- Police received a report about fraud, which remains under investigation at this time.
- Police investigated a report of harassment at Mary’s Bar. Police say that a female actor was told to cease contact with the complainant.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of medications on Ogden Avenue. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police investigated a report about suspicious noises on Clearfield Street. However, police were unable to find anything in the area.
- Police served warrants on a known female for her failure to respond to traffic citations. Police obtained a plea and released the female.
- Police investigated a vehicle accident in the area of West Front and Nichols streets.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI that occurred Tuesday on Route 322 near Fox’s Pizza. According to police, a vehicle stop was conducted for a traffic violation and an odor of marijuana was detected while speaking with the female driver. The female was allegedly under the influence of several controlled substances while delivering newspapers. Police say a search of the vehicle yielded several items of drug paraphernalia and various controlled substances. The female was lodged in county jail on a 48-hour detainer after providing a blood sample; charges are currently pending at this time.
