– Police reported a two-vehicle accident at 2:35 p.m. Friday on United States Route 322 near True Value in Decatur Township, Clearfield County. A 35-year-old Munson man was traveling west while a vehicle driven by Lorrie Coble, 47, of Grassflat was proceeding east on USR 322.
The westbound vehicle was stopped, attempting to turn into the True Value parking lot. At that time, the man failed to observe the Coble vehicle, which was proceeding in the opposite direction. As a result, the Coble vehicle struck the right side of the man’s vehicle. After impact, the man’s vehicle came to a final rest in the entrance of the True Value parking lot, facing east. The Coble vehicle was partially in the eastbound lane and faced northeast.
The man will be cited for vehicle turning left; he sustained minor injuries in the accident. Coble and two of her passengers sustained moderate injuries; she had a third passenger who was listed with a minor injury. Police were assisted at the scene by the Reliance Fire Company, Hope Fire Company, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services and the Houtzdale-Ramey Ambulance.
– Police reported a two-vehicle accident at 7:40 a.m. Friday on United States Route 219 just north of Campbell Lane in Grampian Borough, Clearfield County. A 64-year-old Philipsburg woman was traveling south, when her vehicle spun out of control into the north lane. When it reached the north lane, her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by David G. McCracken, 58, of Marion Center. She suffered minor injuries; her seatbelt was in use at the time of the mishap. She was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic. McCracken was not injured; his vehicle sustained moderate damage, however.
– Police reported a hit-and-run at 2:15 a.m. Sunday on state Route 253 in Gulich Township, Clearfield County. A vehicle was traveling south, when its operator lost control of the same. The vehicle struck a dumpster and tree. The vehicle fled the scene, traveling south on SR 253 and should have damage to the right side. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clearfield State Police at 814-857-3800.
– Police reported an incident of assault/harassment at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday at a private residence on Sanborn Road in Houtzdale, Woodward Township, Clearfield County. Two Houtzdale women engaged in a verbal argument, which turned physical. An 18-year-old allegedly threw a chair and ashtray and punched a 39-year-old woman. The second Houtzdale woman then allegedly punched and scratched the 18-year-old. Harassment charges are to be filed against both women through the district court.
