Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Blasdell, 89, of DuBois and formerly of Sykesville, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Christ the King Manor.
Born April 27, 1928 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Nancy (Torre) Parente.
On Dec. 27, 1953, she married Donald R. Blasdell. He preceded her in death in February of 2008.
She retired as an administrative assistant from Ideal Products after more than 20 years of service.
She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and a past member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and ceramics. She was a very giving person to her brothers and sisters, family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Denise Rusnak of Coral Springs, Fla., John Blasdell and his wife, Diane and Donald Blasdell and his wife, Lisa, both of DuBois; three grandchildren, Kristen and Kathryn Rusnak and Cietta Blasdell; and a step-grandson, Benjamin Blakley IV.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Catherine Dolinar, Lucy Parente and Teresa Yeafol; four brothers, Angelo, Michael, Paul and Joseph Parente; and a very special nephew, Anthony Parente.
Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel at Christ the King Manor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Christ the King Chapel with Fr. Matias Quimno as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
