Edna P. Bickle, 82, formerly of Allport, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Aug. 6, 1935 at West Decatur, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Victor and Nadine A. (Graham) Fleck.
She was the owner of Edna’s Greenhouse in Allport for 25 years. She was an active member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, Osceola Mills.
She loved crocheting, flowers, music, reading, helping people and had great faith in the Lord. She was also a breast cancer survivor.
On Oct. 7, 1967, she married Nelson L. Bickle, who died Oct. 26, 1990.
She is survived by three daughters, Emily A. Waring and her husband, Duane and Laurie A. Flango and her husband, Ronald, all of Philipsburg, and Karen S. Milon and her husband, Joseph of Naples, Fla.; a son, Mark A. Beck of Smyrna, Del; and a son-in-law, Thomas Phelps of Tennessee.
She is also survived by two sisters, Carol Baroni and her husband, Thomas of Clearfield and Mildred Walls of Hawk Run; three brothers, Roger E. Fleck and Roy E. Fleck, both of West Decatur, and Ronald L. Fleck and his wife, Darlene of Port Matilda; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathie Jo (Beck) Phelps, who will be laid to rest with her; granddaughter, Jessica Beck; sister, Sara Smith; and her long-time companion, “Trisha.”
A funeral service to memorialize both Edna P. Bickle and Kathie Jo (Beck) Phelps will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home Inc., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating. Private burial will be in the Allport Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Beginnings Baptist Church to install a handicap accessible ramp and can be mailed to 183 Logan St., Osceola Mills, PA 16666.
