Velma M. “Toots” Smith, 88, of Clearfield died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 in Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Sept. 25, 1929 in Brisbin, she was the daughter of Phillip and Velma (Bowman) Hayward.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Woodland.
She was a homemaker and had been employed as a waitress at the Dimeling Hotel.
She married William Thomas “Snuffy” Smith, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Raejean (James) Smeal of Woodland and Tracy McBride of Clearfield; a son, Scott Smith of Brockway; and five grandchildren, Donald J Smith III, Shawn McBride, Dylan Yeager, Shaleigh McBride and Shaina McBride.
Also surviving are five great-grandchildren and five sisters and one brother, LaRue Henderson of Missouri, Bernice Hayward, Phyllis Hayward and Sharon Owens, all of Clearfield, Butch Hayward of Woodland and Donna Ogden of New York.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
There will be no public visitation and services will be private for family.
Burial will be in the Old Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
