Josephine V. Skrzypek, age 92, formerly of Howard Avenue in DuBois, PA died September 12, 2010 at Christ the King Manor.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1918 in DuBois, PA. She was the daughter of the late Thomas & Veronica (Mikulski) Glowacki.
On Feb. 15, 1941, she married Walter C. Skrzypek, Sr. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1999.
She worked for Sylvania in Emporium, PA and McCory’s in DuBois, PA for many years.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosary Infant of Prague Society.Â
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking.
She was cared for by her daughter in law, Libby Skrzypek of DuBois, PA.Â
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Spradley and her husband, Tom of Wetumpka, AL, a sister, Stella Hanson of DuBois, PA, two grandchildren, Walter C. Skrzypek III and his wife, Brittany of Falls Creek, PA and Dr. David (Lori) Kruzewski of Erie, PA, and five great grandchildren.Â
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Walter C. Skrzypek, Jr., two sisters, Blanche Regec and Helen Prontock and three brothers, Fr. Frank Glowacki, Edward Glowacki, and Walter Glowacki.
Visitation will be held on Sept. 14 from 4-7 p.m. at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.
The rosary will be prayed at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. from the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
