Roy Earl Evans Jr., 88, of Clearfield went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at Ridgeview Eldercare, Curwensville.
Born April 26, 1929 in Sylvan Grove, he was the son of the late Roy Earl Evans and Pearl Evans Smeal.
On July 17, 2004 in Maryland, he wed Sylvia Enochs Evans, who survives in Clearfield.
Also surviving are his daughters, Shirlene Evans and Arlene Peters, both of Curwensville; three step-children, Harry Reitmyer of Ohio, Lorrie Wells of Curwensville and Barbara Wilcox and her husband, Ferris of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Melissa and her companion, Chris and Mindy and her companion, Andrew; four great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, Sunni and her companion, William, Kyle, Rachel and her husband, Kodie, Harry and Heath; and his two step-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sisters, Eleanor Evans of Clearfield and Hilda Evans of Ohio and his brother, Bill Evans and his wife, Betty of Morrisdale.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn Evans and grandson, Jason.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Fellowship, Wallaceton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class, serving on the USS Roosevelt as a barber.
He had been employed by the former Shelaney Furniture and Appliance Store, Houtzdale.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at the Strange and Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
