Hazel “Joyce” Kaizer, 79, of DuBois and formerly of Clear Run, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 at Nelson’s Golden Years, DuBois.
Born May 12, 1938 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Muriel (Lawhead) Nelson.
She was a 1956 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.
On Aug. 3, 1957, she married William Kaizer. He survives.
She retired in 2002 as a central service technician from the DuBois Regional Medical Center after 34 years of service. After her retirement, she worked part-time at Joe’s Tux Shop for 12 years.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
She was a seven-gallon blood donor and past member of the Buick Club of America. She was a member of 500 & 600 bowling club; she bowled in many state and national tournaments.
She enjoyed bowling, sports and her family. She loved to watch all sports from Little League to her favorites – Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Hetrick and her husband, Rick of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Patricia Thomas and her husband, Rodger of DuBois; a sister, Dorothy Fairman and her husband, Bob of DuBois; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dawna Quarando and Joan Kolash and one great-granddaughter.
There will be no public visitation. A private memorial mass will be held at the convenience of the family.
