Lillian Mae (Swanson) Young, 96, of Summerville and formerly of Curwensville, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born March 29, 1921 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of Arthur Edwin and Ruby Arminta (Zimmerman) Swanson.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker and had also worked for Rola Electronics in Punxsutawney.
She was a member of the Summerville United Methodist Church.
On Oct. 5, 1941 in Philipsburg, she wed Miller Young, who preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1984.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen Murray; a brother, William Swanson; and sisters, Ruth Lewis and Mabel Hudson.
Surviving are two children, Kendra Rae Woodring and her husband, Richard of Middletown, Del., and Scott Alan Young and his wife, Sherry of Brookville.
Also surviving are a son-in-law, William Murray of Newark, Del., nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Guglielmi of Curwensville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. William Saxman officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
