State police at Philipsburg
- State police reported on a drug incident that occurred Jan. 15 on Interstate 99 in Worth Township. A 39-year-old McKees Rocks man was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop. Charges were filed through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about the theft of a purse from a vehicle while it was parked along West Sixth Avenue.
- Police responded to an activated alarm along Turnpike Avenue. Police were cancelled, as there was an employee at the scene.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with a combative fall patient along South Second Street. According to police, the male agreed to go to the hospital for injuries sustained from the fall.
- Police responded to a reported altercation between a mother and her daughter on East Eighth Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported on a drug incident that occurred Thursday on Daisy Street Extension in Lawrence Township. According to the report, officers observed a sedan with its driver’s side headlamp out and conducted a traffic stop. When police made contact with the driver, they observed drug paraphernalia – in plain view – on the passenger’s seat in a purse. When the rest of the vehicle was searched, police allegedly found more paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana. Charges will be filed as a result of the incident.
- Police reported on a drug incident that occurred Thursday on Woodland Road in Lawrence Township. According to the report, officers conducted a traffic stop for various vehicle equipment violations. When police made contact with the driver, they observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. When the vehicle was searched, police allegedly found additional paraphernalia and a small amount of suspected marijuana. Charges will be filed as a result of the incident.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle accident Wednesday on Coal Hill Road in Lawrence Township. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Victoria Rothrock was traveling east, while a vehicle driven by Loraine Hudson was traveling west. Both were negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway and came into contact in the middle of the roadway. No injuries and minor damage to both vehicles were reported to police.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a bad check for insufficient funds that was received by Your Building Center. Employees had taken the necessary steps but hadn’t heard from the male. Police made contact with the male who immediately went and paid the bad check in full.
- Police were dispatched to a hit-and-run that occurred in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. A female told police her vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. They pulled over and she was given the driver’s information. However, she said she refused to provide her own information because it wasn’t her fault. Police said the female was upset because the other driver followed her to West Park Avenue trying to get her vehicle information.
- Police were requested to contact a female about suspicious activity. According to police, a female recently activated a Facebook account and she had over 1,000 people request her to be a friend, most of whom she didn’t know. When the requests were approved, she reportedly began to receive numerous sexual messages and calls. Police advised her that she needed to update her privacy settings and delete any person she doesn’t actually know in real life. Police also told her she needed to stop accepting suspicious friend requests because they could be scammers.
