State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about a retail theft that occurred Jan. 6 at the Dollar General Store in Reynoldsville. During the incident, a known suspect allegedly attempted to steal a pack of batteries. They were confronted by the store manager and then fled the scene.
- State police received a report about an alleged sexual assault that occurred between Jan. 1 and Jan. 3 in Washington Township. No further information was released in the report.
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred sometime Friday or Saturday on Preston Way in Falls Creek Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a Kobelco Mini Excavator. It was yellow and black in color with a fully-enclosed cab. State police say it was secured by chain binders to a Sure Track dual axle tilt bed trailer. The trailer is black with a wooden deck and white powder-coated wheels. Both were parked at Moore Propane, and state police say the suspect towed away the vehicles. State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about underage drinking Thursday at the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. During the incident, a known Philipsburg juvenile allegedly consumed alcohol while on school property. They were charged through the district court for the incident.
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred between April 18 and Sept. 28 of 2017 in Union Township. During the incident, a Muncy woman allegedly took the victim’s credit card and accessed over $6,000 without her knowledge or permission. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Sunday in the YMCA parking lot in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a male allegedly shoved the victim.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Jan. 3 at the Jefferson County Jail. During the incident, a 36-year-old Grampian man allegedly punched the victim in the face. Charges are currently pending through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of identity theft that occurred Jan. 4 on Shepard Lane in Burnside Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took the victim’s identity and made fraudulent charges using her credit card information. - State police reported on a DUI that occurred Jan. 10 on Route 119 near Paradise Road in Henderson Township. According to police, a 49-year-old Punxsutawney man was involved in a crash. He was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol while in control of a vehicle.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between Thursday and Saturday at a State Street residence in Summersville Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly vandalized the victim’s vehicle with raw eggs, bologna and sugar in its fuel tank. - State police received a report about a theft that occurred Saturday at a Knox Dale Road residence in McCalmont Township. During the incident, a .22 rifle went missing from the victim’s residence. A 36-year-old Punxsutawney man, Richard W. Dicello, allegedly took the gun and sold it. He was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on firearm theft-related charges.
- State police received a report about an incident of strangulation/terroristic threats that occurred Jan. 2 on Tyler Drive in Union Township. During the incident, Carson R. Clinger Jr., 31, of Corsica allegedly threatened the victim and choked her. He was arrested, charged and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about a domestic simple assault that occurred Friday on Adams Street in Jay Township. During the incident, two males were engaged in a verbal argument. It turned physical when a Byrnedale male – Jeffrey C. Gray, 32, punched Victim 1 in the face. Victim 2 attempted to break up the fight and was subjected to physical contact, state police say. Gray was arraigned and lodged in the Elk County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to an alarm in the area of Leavy and Healy avenues.
- Police received a complaint that involved the dumping of trash.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with locating a male. It was found that he had warrants through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a report about loud music. As a result, police requested those responsible to turn down their sound system.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Clearfield Borough residents are reminded that it’s a violation to park along a public street for more than 48 hours. Police say that vehicle owners could receive a ticket or citation for this violation.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of theft by deception Friday at Kwik Fill on Race Street. Police say a counterfeit $100 bill was passed by a customer. The customer was identified by police, taken into custody and found to have active warrants. He was subsequently housed in county jail and criminal charges are pending. Police would like to encourage businesses to verify the authenticity of large bills with a counterfeit bill detector or Police noted there has been an increase in $100 bills with “For Motion Picture Use Only” on them. Police indicated the best way to verify a bill is by sight, touch and security features, including its watermark.
- Police responded to an accident Friday on the Clearfield – Glen Richey Highway near Bloom Road in Lawrence Township. According to police, a 2015 Jeep Wrangler was traveling south towards Glen Richey. The driver lost control, went off the left-hand side and struck a stone memorial. All occupants were taken by ambulance and are in “moderate condition.” Police were assisted by Clearfield and Curwensville EMS and the Glen Richey and Lawrence Township fire departments.
- Police received a report about a theft that occurred Sunday at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. During the incident, someone allegedly removed cash from a male’s room.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct/criminal mischief that occurred Sunday on Woodland Road in Lawrence Township. A 22-year-old man allegedly smashed out a window in a vehicle belonging to the victim during a verbal argument.
- Police received a report about a domestic Sunday on Powell Avenue in Lawrence Township. During the incident, a male and female allegedly engaged in a physical domestic. She sustained minor injuries, police say, and charges will be filed against the male.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a suspicious person on a porch in the 100 block of Evergreen Street. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate anyone in the area.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of South Church Street. A woman told police that her ex-husband was “throwing things” in the house and being abusive. Upon arrival to the scene, police located a man at the rear entrance; he refused commands to leave the residence. Police entered the house after and continued to order him to stop. He was eventually caught at the bottom of the stairs, put in handcuffs and taken to another room. Police also spoke with the female who didn’t want to file charges but wanted the man to leave. Police cleared after the man left the residence.
- Police were flagged down by a man who wanted to report that he’d forgotten his wallet at a convenience store. When he returned, he said there was money missing from it. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a couple involved in a verbal domestic in the 700 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police learned it was only verbal, and the male agreed to leave for the evening. No further action was required by police.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on South Brady Street. Upon arrival, police found that a Chevrolet Equinox went off the road and struck a light pole. Police say the pole was knocked out of the ground and busted out a window at a business. Police also say that the vehicle was towed from the scene, and charges are pending against its driver.
- While on routine patrol, police observed a suspicious vehicle and activity at a business in the 500 block of Liberty Boulevard. Police made contact with a 31-year-old DuBois woman who was renting a room at the business. Police allegedly located several items of drug paraphernalia inside the woman’s room. Police took the woman into custody and to county jail; she was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and three counts of endangering the welfare of children.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of South Brady Street and Olive Avenue. Upon arrival, police found that a Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Caravan were involved in a minor mishap. No injuries were reported as a result, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police were requested to contact a female in reference to a burglary in the 200 block of Maple Avenue. During the incident, someone allegedly stole several items out of the victim’s basement. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a domestic in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police found a 33-year-old DuBois man in the hallway. He was reportedly intoxicated and admitted to being in a verbal argument with others inside the apartment. Police spoke with those involved and learned two people ended up wrestling with each other. No injuries were reported to police, and both people declined prosecution in the matter.
- Police received a report about a domestic in the 400 block of South Main Street. Upon arrival, police were told that a male threw a female out of the house and into the snow. Upon further investigation, police determined he shoved her out of the house and she landed in the snow. No injuries were reported to police, and both declined prosecution in the matter.
