WILKES-BARRE — Sophomore 197-pounder Travis Ogden (Clearfield) recorded a first-period fall for all-important bonus points in Lycoming’s 20-18 win over Rochester Institute of Technology at the annual Pa./N.Y. Duals hosted by King’s College Saturday.
He pinned Joe Monteleone at the 2:21 mark to cut what once was a 15-5 deficit to 18-15 and set the stage for ninth-ranked heavyweight Garrett Wesneski’s technical fall in just 3:35 that provided the deciding points.
Later, both received forfeits that lifted the Warriors to a 24-16 win over Oswego State for a 7-2 record.
Ogden, who was on the injured list for seven weeks, is 3-2.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
GREENSBURG — Sophomore Cody Spaid (Clearfield) had two outstanding performances for Pitt-Greensburg in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action last week.
The 6-7 forward/center had game-highs in points with 16 and rebounds with nine in the Bobcats’ 62-60 loss to Franciscan at Steubenville, Ohio, on Wednesday and followed up with 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds in a 79-65 loss to Hilbert (N.Y.) in Chambers Hall Saturday afternoon.
Spaid also had seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds when the Bobcats defeated Ohio State-Lima 93-55 in the Dec. 30 consolation game of the McDonald’s Holiday Classic hosted by Bluffton (Ohio) University.
Spaid ranks as one of the AMCC’s top rebounders, No. 1 in defensive boards with a 5.9 average and tied for No. 4 overall with a 7.1 average.
He’s started 11 games for the Bobcats (4-8, 2-5 AMCC) and has 98 points (8.2 ppg), 85 rebounds, 21 assists, 16 blocks and six steals. He’s tied for fifth in the conference with 1.3 blocks per game.

DUBOIS — Sophomore center Trey Rauckhorst (Curwensville) scored six points and grabbed three rebounds Saturday in Penn State DuBois’ 85-68 home loss to Washington Adventist (Md.), ranked No. 9 in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association Division I.
He also had one assist and one block.
Sophomore guard Caleb Strouse (Clearfield) also saw action for the Lions, who dipped to 5-7.
Rauckhorst, who has made five starts, shows 65 points, 59 rebounds, 11 blocks, three assists and one steal.
Strouse has two rebounds and one assist in four games.

MEN’S SWIMMING
WINTER PARK, Fla. — Junior Michael Spencer (Clearfield) placed fourth in two individual events and was on two runner-up relay teams for Westminster against Rollins (Fla.) in the outdoor Alfond Pool Friday afternoon.
Spencer’s times were 23.83 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and 26.01 in the 50 butterfly with a 22.91 anchor leg for the Titans’ 200 medley foursome that posted a 1:43.46 and a 23.72 leadoff leg for the 200 free quartet that turned in a 1:3.93 clocking.
Rollins halted Westminster’s five-meet winning streak with a 157-105 victory.
Two days earlier, the Titans competed in the St. Pete’s Classic Relays, another outdoor event, at the North Short Aquatic Complex in St. Petersburg, Fla., and Spencer helped three foursomes and a trio finish second or third.
He swam a 22.50 second leg for the 200 free quartet that earned second place in 1:30.67, a 53.92 second split for the 400 free foursome that took third in 3:28.81, a 23.45 anchor leg for the 200 medley team that was third in 1:44.02 and a 1:00.48 anchor for the 3×100 fly trio that wound up third in 2:56.45.
Westminster totaled 124 points for second place behind Truman (Ill.) State’s 160 aggregate.
