DUBOIS -The DuBois Area Middle School and the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group have partnered in a beautification project for the downtown.
According to a press release issued by the revitalization group, the school’s Garden Club students, led by Principal Dan Hawkins, designed the plantings and grew the plants for 10 flower barrels located in the downtown district. The students also planted all the barrels that will then be watered and maintained by the business that has adopted it.
Julie Stewart, program manager for the Downtown Group, said that it was a great partnership that allowed the students to get involved in the community and feel a part of the whole revitalization process.
