PENNFIELD – This fall, Parker Dam State Park will again offer programs for Webelos Cub Scouts who are interested in completing the requirements for the “Naturalist” and “Forester” activity pins.
For each, the requirements will be covered during each of the six individual programs. Parents or den leaders will sign off on the completion of individual scouts’ requirements.
Three “Naturalist” programs will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 25, 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25 and 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.
Three “Forester” programs will be offered at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10 and 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.
Participants of each program will meet at the Environmental Education Classroom, located next to the Park Office, and be prepared for the program to last approximately three hours. Participants should also be prepared for several outdoor activities.
There is no fee to participate in the Webelos programs at Parker Dam State Park. However, participants must pre-register at www.visitpaparks.com by clicking on “Calendar,” selecting “Parker Dam State Park” as the facility, selecting the program and date of their choice, and completing the requested information.
Registrations will be accepted from now until the week prior to each program. You may register single scouts or entire Webelos dens, but do not register scouts that you do not know for sure will participate because space is very limited.
Anyone with questions or difficulty registering online is to contact the Park Office at (814) 765-0630 to speak to the Environmental Education Specialist.
