DUBOIS – Art students of Cheyenne Helman at DuBois Central Catholic High School recently experimented with the technique of charcoal-transfer.
This was done to aid them in creating a drawing of themselves using micrography, which is a graphic reproduction of an image using only miniature, handwritten words in pencil.
Helman explains, “Word choice was up to the students, with most choosing words to a favorite song, poem or words relevant to them.”
Helman adds, “Students had to pay extra-special attention to the size of each letter to ensure an accurate self-portrait, and they rose to the challenge and created some amazing pieces.”
