CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough will again provide curbside leaf collection. The schedule is as follows:
- West Side of the River (Recycling Zone 1) will be collected during the following weeks: Oct. 9, Oct. 23 and Nov. 6.
- East Side of the River (Recycling Zone 3) will be collected during the following weeks: Oct. 16, Oct. 30 and Nov. 13.
Borough officials advise that leaves should be placed between the sidewalk and the curb. Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags.
Also, under no circumstances should any leaves be raked into the street, officials said.
Any resident located on a one-way street is asked to please contact the borough administrative office.
Residents are reminded that the collection with the LeafVac was intended for the “right-of-way, not entire yards.” The curbside clean-up is not to be used by contractors.
Officials noted that “absolutely no dumping” will be permitted at the borough’s garage on Power Avenue. However, residents can use the compost site on 21st Street.
“Compost is available for local residents,” officials said. “We offer residential curbside recycling for aluminum cans, bimetallic cans and most clear, green and brown glass.
“Pick-up is scheduled for the first and third Tuesday of the month for the Clearfield Borough residents.”
Commercial establishments, located in the borough, are independently required to recycle items set forth by the recycling ordinance. A copy may be obtained at the borough office.
Borough officials noted that there will not be any Christmas tree pick-up.
