According to previous GANT News reports, the current building celebrated 20 years this past spring. However, its roof has reached the end of its lifespan.
Additionally, operating expenses continue to increase while financial support from the state government has decreased in recent years.
The goal of the Capital Campaign is to not only pay for a new roof and other upgrades, but also to increase the permanent endowment, so that staff members can ensure a sustainable future for the library.
To learn more about the campaign, please visit the library’s Web site at www.ShawLibrary.org and click the “Donate” tab.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone that has donated thus far, putting us that much closer to our goal of $250,000 and a sustainable future,” says Jayme Stonbraker, library director.
