CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library was a recipient of the 2009 Preschool Connection Grant. The money was awarded to the library to further develop the preschool resources and area of the children’s library. Throughout the past year, Shaw Public Library has been diligently working to improve the atmosphere and materials available for preschool children of the Clearfield community. To display all the new and exciting changes to the children’s area, Shaw Public Library would like to invite preschool children and their parents to the Preschool Connection Grant Discovery Event on Aug. 24 from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
During the event, children will be able to view and interact with the items purchased with the Preschool Connection Grant money. Items include a new rug, chairs, toys, board books, and decorations. Children and their parents may play with the new rainbow, toss the letter bean bags, or read any one of the amazing children’s books purchased.
During the Preschool Connection Grant Discovery Event, parents may register their children for the fall story sessions. In Let’s Discover, preschool aged children will hop on board various modes of transportation to discover the world around them. Shaw Public Library is offering baby time, toddler time, and story time sessions to all area preschoolers 6 months through 5 years of age. There will be various times available for each age group, so parents may choose what works best for their schedule.
Also during the event, refreshments will be provided in the conference room. Families may stop in any time between 10:30 a.m. and noon to view the items on display and register for the fall story sessions.
