BECCARIA TOWNSHIP – The Clearfield-based State Police has initiated an investigation into an accidental shooting at 8:50 p.m. Thursday at Leyo’s IGA in Beccaria Township.
According to the incident report, a known, 16-year-old juvenile allegedly accidentally discharged an arrow from a bow while inside the store. The juvenile was adjusting a mechanism on the bow, when it struck a 39-year-old Johnstown woman in the back, police said.
Police said the woman was transported to the Altoona Hospital for medical treatment. She has since been treated and released from the hospital.
