State police at DuBois
- State police reported on drugs found on Tuesday along Baghdad Road in Snyder Township. According to state police, a package containing marijuana was found after it was delivered to an abandoned structure via postage. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police responded to a report about a hit-and-run crash that occurred overnight Sunday into Monday in a parking lot west of South Second Street and north of Maple Street in Philipsburg Borough. The victim’s vehicle was legally parked when it was struck by an unknown white vehicle; it sustained minor damage as a result. The operator of the suspect vehicle fled the scene without leaving any information. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint during the month of August in Jefferson County. It will focus on removing impaired drivers from highways.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a possible incident of child endangerment. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle, non-reportable accident on Turnpike Avenue.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident on Route 879 in a construction zone.
- Police received a report about a dog locked inside a vehicle at Wal-Mart.
- Police received a report about an automatic fire alarm at the Hampton Inn.
- Police were contacted by authorities in Centre County about a male who was wanted on a warrant through the township.
- Police received a report about a possible fraud/phone scam.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person in the area of Center Street.
- Police received a report about loitering and prowling on West Front Street. Police checked the area with negative contact with the male. Police later learned he was with a family member of the caller, and everything was OK.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about an intoxicated male who was acting erratically on West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police found he was under the influence. Emergency personnel cleared the male, and he was taken to the county jail. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a highly intoxicated female who had left the emergency room. Police searched the area but were unable to locate her.
- Police received a report about an incident of indecent exposure. While parked along West Long Avenue, females observed a naked male in a window. He was allegedly inappropriately touching himself while looking at the females. Police made contact with the male and identified him as Carl Wagner. He was taken into custody and to the county jail. He is facing charges of open lewdness and indecent exposure; he was also on probation.
- Police responded to an accident in the 700 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police observed a motorcyclist leaving the scene. Police learned he was involved and intoxicated. After the male pulled off into a yard, police approached and identified him as Cody Foradori. While speaking with him, police allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol. Foradori was taken to the hospital for an evaluation and later released. He was then transported to the county jail, and charges have been filed against him.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on East Long Avenue. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person who was wearing an animal mask in the 700 block of East Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police made contact with three people who had character masks inside a vehicle. They had just purchased them and planned to make a video with friends. Police subsequently cleared the scene.
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was left at the intersection of West Weber Avenue and Franklin Street. It was on the roadway, and there wasn’t anyone around it. Police attempted to contact the owner with negative results. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to it being a traffic hazard.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the 100 block of North Main Street. It remains under investigation at this time.
