State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Saturday on the Allport Cutoff in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed the victim’s sign from the roadside. Then, they fled the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a reckless driver on Route 879.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance on Daisy Street. According to police, a male was taken to the county jail for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Police said a young female was taken to the hospital for possible alcohol poisoning. She was later released and taken to county jail on disorderly conduct and underage drinking charges.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a possible hit-and-run.
- Police received a report about an open door at a closed business on South Second Street. Police made contact with the manager, and the building was secured.
- Police received a report about suspicious persons in the Hillsdale area. Police checked the area with negative contact.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a person on Industrial Park Road.
Sandy Township
- On Friday police received a report from a South Church Street resident. She told police that her neighbor’s dogs run loose and bother her family. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Friday police received a report from a township resident who had found an apartment to rent in State College. She had responded to an advertisement and was asked to send a MoneyGram for $1,200 to a female in Texas. The female would then send her the key via FedEx. Police said the resident was worried it was a scam, and they are continuing their investigation at this time.
- On Friday police received a report from a Wasson Avenue resident who stated that unknown men were in her yard. According to her, they claimed they would be digging it up due to a water leak. However, she told the men that they were not allowed to and they left. Police said the resident checked with the township and learned there wasn’t any work being done in her area.
- On Saturday police received a report from a 53-year-old DuBois man. He stated that while he was slowed in traffic on the Bee Line Highway, his vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle whose operator then fled the scene. He reported damage to the rear bumper of his vehicle.
- On Saturday police received a report about a man who was soliciting for money with a sign on Industrial Drive. Officers located the 34-year-old New York man and handled the situation without incident.
- On Saturday police pulled over a 38-year-old DuBois man who was illegally maneuvering a velomobile in and out of slow traffic on the Bee Line Highway. After being issued a warning for his behavior, the man became belligerent to officers because he was pulled over.
- On Saturday police received a report from a 26-year-old Treasure Lake resident who alleged that his girlfriend’s family was harassing him. Upon arrival, officers found the 39-year-old girlfriend and her mother waiting outside the residence. They told police that the man was on house arrest and yelling threats out the door. Police separated the parties and handled the situation without incident.
- On Sunday police received a report from a Kilmer Road resident who had observed someone in her car parked outside her residence. Offices found a man walking in the area and stopped him for questioning; the investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sunday. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old DuBois man failed to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Emporium man. It was then pushed into a vehicle driven by a 49-year-old Medina, Ohio woman who was stopped at the light on the Bee Line Highway. Major damage and minor injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
- On Sunday police received a report from a 35-year-old Falls Creek woman who stated that while she was at the Falls Creek Sheetz, someone hit and damaged her vehicle. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
