CLEARFIELD – The CCSHDC Used Book Sale will be held May 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held at 335 E. Locust St., Clearfield, which is the office of the Clearfield County Society for Handicapped/Disabled Citizens.
The sale includes a nice collection of hardback fiction, according to Mark Kercenneck, president of the CCSHDC board and coordinator of the book sale.
“We have a variety of wonderful books, “ he added.
Included in the collection are many books on cooking, crafts, hunting and music, he said, and there are lots of large print books this year. More donations of books are coming in daily, and those with books to donate can drop them off at CCSHDC’s bin at Shaw Library. Proceeds from the sale of books will be divided equally with the library.
“I only have eyes for mystery,” says society Executive Director Kathy Wolford, “and I can tell you there are newer Clive Cusslers and Patricia Cromwells and lots of Mary Higgins Clark, Dick Francis, John Grisham and Agatha Christy and about every other popular mystery writer.”
This is the spring sale and another will be scheduled in the fall. The used book sale was previously held by the Clearfield Area Branch of the American Association of University Women, and proceeds from their sales of 40 years also were shared with Shaw Library.
