CLEARFIELD – Steve Shilling, executive vice president of CNB Private Client Solutions, recently announced the promotion of R. Michael Love, CFP®, to the position of vice president/wealth management.
In this position, Love provides CNB clients with professional financial advice to assist them in meeting their individual financial goals.
In today’s complex financial markets, Love provides guidance to bank clients on an initial and ongoing basis with regards to retirement and income planning, wealth management strategies and insurance needs.
“As the primary financial advisor in the northern CNB footprint, Mike has become a very important resource for our clients,” said Shilling.
“He provides a better understanding of their investment options and access to a full range of financial options, including financial needs analysis, mutual funds, annuities, life insurance and more.”
In March, Love attained the Certified Financial PlannerTM, CFP® certification, which is recognized in the United States and a number of other countries for its high standard of professional education, stringent code of conduct and standards of practice and ethical requirements that govern professional engagements with clients.
To attain the right to use the CFP® marks, an individual must satisfactorily fulfill several requirements, which include the completion of an advanced college-level course of study addressing financial planning subject areas, such as insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning.
In addition, an individual must complete at least three years of full-time financial planning-related experience, attain a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited United States college or university, agree to be bound by CFP Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, a set of documents outlining the ethical and practice standards for CFP® professionals, as well as pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination.
A native of Hartville, Ohio, Love graduated from Lake High School in 2001. He earned a Bachelor’s in marketing management from Grove City College in 2004 with high honors.
Love joined CNB in 2011 following positions held previously as an advisor with PNC Investment and Farmers National Financial Services.
Love currently resides in DuBois with his wife, Jordan, and is a member of Tri-County Church. He has two daughters, Addison and Avery.
