A man who state police sought May 24 in Wallaceton has been hospitalized after a high-speed pursuit ended in a crash during the early-morning hours Saturday.
State police at Philipsburg were on patrol in the area of Six Mile and Blue Spruce roads in Decatur Township. At 1:05 a.m., troopers received a tip that Hunter Anderson, 23, was driving a blue Dodge Dakota.
Anderson is currently wanted in Clearfield, Centre and Clinton counties.
A short time later, troopers observed a vehicle matching the description provided in the tip. Troopers started to follow the vehicle and observed multiple traffic violations.
“Troopers activated overhead lighting and audible sirens in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop,” the report stated. “The vehicle failed to stop and a high-speed pursuit ensued … [it] lasted 23 minutes.”
State police said the pursuit ended in the area of the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Snyder Township, Blair County. Anderson was allegedly traveling at speeds “greater than reasonable.”
He lost control of the pick-up, which left the roadway and went airborne off an about 10-foot cement flood wall. His pick-up overturned several times until coming to a rest in the river.
Anderson was transported to UPMC Altoona for medical treatment, state police said, and he will be arraigned on all pending warrants upon his release.
