CLEARFIELD-The HRI subdivision is ready to move forward after Tuesday night’s Lawrence Township Supervisor’s meeting.
Tom Stojek, Clearfield Foundation executive director, was on hand to explain the project.
“I’m here for your questions and hopefully to gain your approval so we can move forward to closing the deal,” Stojeck said to the board.
The board voted unanimously for the project to move forward..
HRI of State College plans to build a state-of-the-art emulsion plant at the site on Industrial Park Road. The site of the future plant is on 18.5 acres behind Wal-Mart Supercenter?and Lowes. Whitaker Roads Corporation, an owned subsidiary of HRI, specializes in asphalt emulsions, which can be custom blended for highway construction and maintenance needs.
HRI began as a family business in 1947 out of State College. It currently employs more than 700 employees in its facilities across the state. This plant would enhance the operations at a plant that is currently operating along Barrett Road in Bradford Township. The new plant would also create and retain jobs in the area-
