CLEARFIELD – Lawrence Township police have identified the suspects who were allegedly involved in a pair of retail thefts at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clearfield.
The first incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. April 18 and involved a male. The second incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. April 24; it involved the same male as well as a female.
Police were able to identify the suspects after receiving numerous calls from members of the public Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to police, the male was taken into custody Tuesday by DuBois-based state police. State police received an anonymous tip about him having several outstanding warrants.
Police say state police found the male in possession of drugs and or other drug paraphernalia, and he will face charges. He was transported to and housed at the Clearfield County Jail.
The female was interviewed by township police Wednesday. Police found she was only accountable for approximately $20 or less of the stolen Wal-Mart merchandise.
However, during her interview, police determined other thefts had allegedly occurred at the Wal-Mart stores in DuBois and Punxsutawney and Rural King in Clearfield.
Police say it was determined that additional items were stolen from the Wal-Mart store in Clearfield during the pair of incidents.
Police will continue their investigation in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies as well as Wal-Mart and Rural King.
